I always absolutely recommend to any buyers (my own as well as any that come to my open houses) to not only visit any home they are interested in during the day and again at night, but to walk the neighborhood, talk to other residents who are out for a walk, sit outside the house at night for a while to see what may be going on (or not) and to knock on neighbors doors. I often go with my clients to talk to neighbors. Neighbors love to share and are the very best sources of information. I’ve had buyers totally change their minds about a home they were going to put an offer on because of what we heard from the neighbors about the area or about the specific home they were interested in. It may seem like a silly thing but it’s so critically important!
